While WWE and AAA’s current relationship is already paying back in a big way, quite a few fans have been wondering if WWE plans on pursuing CMLL talent in hopes of signing them. While speculation continues, WWE’s current stance on pursuing CMLL talent has been revealed.
According to Cory Hays of BodySlam, sources close to him say that WWE is not currently trying to sign CMLL talent for the AAA-affiliated roster. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention. One wrestler they are keeping an eye on, according to these sources, is Máscara Dorada.

AEW’s Grand Slam Mexico show last month was a massive hit with fans and critics alike and that’s why people wondered if WWE would go after CMLL talent. While they’re not going for them right now, it’s obviously why they have an interest in Máscara Dorada since he’s been doing great lately.
With WWE’s international plans growing and their strong partnership with AAA, it will be interesting to see if they eventually go after CMLL stars like Máscara Dorada or other talent in the future. After all, Mexico is a hotbed of top talent and WWE would benefit a lot from signing CMLL talent.
