Stat Attack
- Man City have won eight of their last nine meetings against Wolves (W8, L1).
- Wolves have won one of their last six visits to Man City (W1, L6).
- Seven of City’s last eight goals at home against Wolves were scored by Haaland, although the Norwegian misses out on this game with injury.
- City have kept just one clean sheet in their last five home games (W3, D1, L1).
- Pablo Sarabia has scored in each of Wolves’ last two away games (W2).
Prediction
Having clinically struck early in both halves to beat Forest in a game of two halves where they dominated the first half, yet had to dig deep defensively in the second half for the win and clean sheet, City now need to just keep playing with the renewed confidence which they’ve gained in this run-in.
Wolves though are in superb form with six straight wins and having thumped Leicester in a classy display despite a wasteful first half, which gives me a feeling that they could spring a surprise if they can be consistently clinical here although they will be counter-attacking more than controlling the game.
Nevertheless this might be closer than many might think it could be and I wouldn’t be surprised if Wolves somehow snatch a point.
Prediction: Man City 1-1 Wolves
