Leicester meet Southampton in a Premier League dead rubber at the foot of the table.
Leicester and Southampton are already relegated and will remain 19th and 20th respectively regardless of the result.
Team News
Goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen is ruled out for Leicester until pre-season after he needed surgery on a long-standing groin injury which has affected him in recent months.
Facundo Buonanotte is ruled out after he suffered concussion during their defeat at Wolves last weekend.
Ricardo Pereira, Bobby Reid, Stephy Mavididi (all muscle), Harry Winks (personal) and Abdul Fatawu (ACL) remains ruled out.
Southampton could welcome Paul Onuachu back from an ankle injury which forced him to sit out their 2-1 home defeat to Fulham.
When is Kick-Off?
Leicester host Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 3 May at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leicester have lost two of their last seven Premier League meetings against Southampton (W3, D2, L2).
- Southampton have won three of their last five Premier League trips to Leicester (W3, L2).
- Jamie Vardy has scored in his last three appearances for Leicester against Southampton (W3).
- Leicester are looking to avoid extending their run of home games without a league goal to ten matches (L9).
- Coming into this matchweek, no team has conceded more goals this season than Southampton (80).
Prediction
With no goals in their last nine league matches at home, Leicester have to realistically view this as their best chance of finding a rare goal on their own turf if can bring more quality and composure than we saw at Wolves.
Southampton meanwhile must realistically win to give themselves an unlikely chance of not finishing rock bottom and to their credit, they did give Fulham a good test although two small unlucky errors cost them but they’re on the right track performance wise if look long-term going into next season.
Although there isn’t much riding on this, I do fancy Southampton to spring a surprise and take a clinical win if can cut out the defensive mistakes.
Prediction: Leicester 0-1 Southampton
