Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has warned Victor Osimhen not to move to Saudi Arabia this summer. He believes the striker should play in the Premier League instead.

Osimhen, who just finished a brilliant season on loan at Galatasaray, scored 37 goals in 41 matches. Turkish champions want to keep him, while Saudi club Al Hilal has also made a big-money offer. But Mikel says the 26-year-old should stay in Europe.

“I don’t want to see Osimhen in Saudi right now,” Mikel said. “He still has so much to offer in Europe. It would be a shame to see him go there.”

Mikel, who played for Chelsea during his career, thinks Manchester United or Arsenal would be good clubs for Osimhen.

“I hope there is still a Premier League move for him this summer,” Mikel added. “Maybe Arsenal, United, Juventus or PSG — let’s see what happens.”

Chelsea were once interested, but that changed after they signed young striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

Mikel also spoke about Manchester United’s current striker Rasmus Højlund, saying:

“I don’t think Højlund is the guy for Manchester United. He works hard, but he won’t score the goals they need to get back to the top.”

Osimhen is expected to return to Napoli soon. However, his next move is still not decided. With interest from big clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia offering huge money, fans are waiting to see where Nigeria’s star striker will go.
