In 2023, WWE and UFC joined together under one company called TKO. This big change has made it easier for UFC fighters to possibly show up in WWE, and now that both are part of the same group, it appears there are more chances for stars from each side to cross over and try something new.
While speaking on the Flagrant podcast, Triple H was asked if any UFC fighters might make the jump to WWE, since both companies are now under the same umbrella. He said it’s definitely possible, but it depends on whether the person is an entertainer or not. He pointed to examples like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, showing that crossovers have happened before.
The Game explained that WWE is always open to the idea, and with the current recruiting methods, including D1 college athletes and the NIL program, they’re getting people who are interested in WWE-style entertainment.
Some of those recruits have strong amateur wrestling or combat sports backgrounds and might also be open to entering the MMA world. So while nothing is certain, Triple H said it’s one of those situations where you should never say never.
“You know, you might. Look, it’s one of those things—it just depends on who’s an entertainer and who’s not. Yeah, there’s always that possibility. Look at Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey—there’s always that possibility. We’re always wide open to it. I think there’s also a chance, with how we’re recruiting now—D1 athletes coming out of college, our NIL program, and everything else—we’re getting people who want to do WWE-style entertainment for a living.
Whether that’s realistic or not, some of those guys have strong amateur backgrounds, have trained in combat sports, but want to do what we do. They might even want to throw their hat in that ring too. So, who knows? I’d say never say never on that.”
Triple H didn’t name any specific fighters or give away any plans, but he made it clear that the idea of UFC and WWE stars crossing over has a lot of potential. Now that both companies are part of the same group, it’s much more likely we’ll see UFC fighters in WWE, so we’ll have to see when that will happen.
