Super Eagles and FC Nantes winger, Moses Simon, has raised questions about his future at the French club after a recent post on social media.
The 29-year-old just finished his best season yet, scoring 8 goals and making 10 assists in 32 Ligue 1 matches. His strong performance helped FC Nantes stay in France’s top league.
Simon has been linked with moves to clubs like Everton and newly-promoted Paris FC. A recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account suggested he may be leaving FC Nantes.
He wrote:
“This season is ending, and it will always stay in my heart. This one was special because I reached 201 matches for this legendary club that I love so much. I thank God for everything.”
Simon, who played for Levante before joining Nantes, still has a contract with the club until June 2026. However, Nantes are thinking about offering him a new deal.
In a chat with *Sportsboom*, Simon spoke about how much he values the support from the club:
“Nantes have always respected me, especially when I was injured. The club and fans stood by me. It’s a big, historic team, and even Samson Siasia from Nigeria played here.”
He also added:
“I respect and love the club, but like any player, I’m open to new challenges. If a good offer comes and the club agrees, I’ll think about moving. But if not, I’ll respect my contract and stay.”
“My focus is on enjoying the game. Football is about passion and having fun on the pitch,” Simon said.
Simon recently led the Super Eagles as captain in the Unity Cup final at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium. He scored the opening goal as Nigeria beat Jamaica to win the 2025 Unity Cup.
