Maxxine Dupri is proud of her growth in WWE and everything she has been able to accomplish on the main roster. That’s why it’s not hard to see why she shot down the perception that she got into WWE because of her looks.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Maxxine Dupri said her main goal was to prove people wrong and show why she deserved to be there, making it clear she wasn’t just another pretty face. She didn’t want to rely on her looks or have that be what defined her or her character.
“That was my only goal moving forward, was how do I prove them wrong and show her why I’m here, and that I’m not just another pretty face. I don’t wanna get by on looks. I don’t want that to even be what I’m about. I don’t want that to be Maxxine.”
Dupri also revealed something most people don’t know about her story. Many assume she was discovered by a modeling agency, but that wasn’t the case at all. Maxxine explained that she actually applied countless times through the online portal, not even sure where those applications ended up.
Dupri kept fighting for a chance, reaching out to every connection she had just to land a tryout. She didn’t just stroll into the business by luck or her looks, this was something she had wanted from the very start.
“And I think something that’s interesting about my story that most people don’t know—most people assume that I was like, scouted by a modeling agency or something. No, no, no. I applied countless times to the online portal. Okay? I don’t even know where any of it went, but I was on there fighting, I was reaching out to every connection I had just to get a tryout. I did not waltz into this business and just be like, ‘Lucky I got here, now what?’ Like, I have wanted this since day one.”
Dupree made it clear that success in WWE doesn’t come easy since it has to be earned through hard work, determination, and truly believing in yourself. That’s exactly what she did and fans couldn’t be more proud of her.
