TNA Wrestling and WWE’s partnership is obviously one of the best things going on in wrestling right now. Many people never thought this could become reality and now Matt Hardy has explained why WWE is working with other promotions.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Ariel Helwani asked Matt Hardy why back in 2000 WWE wouldn’t work with TNA or do any kind of co-promotion, but now they are working with other promotions.
Matt Hardy responded that he thinks a big part of it is simply the existence of AEW, saying, “I would guess because part of it is AEW and its existence.” Ariel followed up by wondering if maybe it’s about propping up TNA and giving them opportunities in order to keep AEW blocked out.
Hardy said he believes that’s certainly a feasible reason, and pointed out that it’s actually helping WWE as well. TNA has been around for about 20 years and does a style that’s similar to WWE’s, so in his view it’s a good call and really a win-win for everyone involved.
“I think they could obviously have a feasible option. It’s helping us. TNA is a company that’s been around for 20 years and they do a style that’s similar to WWE, so I think it’s a good call and a win-win for everyone.”
WWE’s collaboration with TNA has led to tons of memorable moments and WWE’s also worked with other promotions like NOAH and more. Therefore we’ll have to see how WWE will continue to work with other promotions, as it’s definitely the best time to be a WWE fan.
