Mariah May’s departure from AEW seems all but certain after her profile was removed from the company’s official roster page. However, her management has clarified that, despite her absence from AEW programming, her contract has not officially expired as of May 30, 2025.
Even though AEW has removed her from their roster, May’s management claimed via Fightful Select her deal is still active, but reports from WWE sources indicate that her move to the company is all but confirmed. However, WWE is preparing for May’s arrival once her AEW contract concludes, with WWE already expressing strong interest in signing her.
This update comes after months of speculation surrounding May’s AEW future, especially following her absence after losing to Toni Storm at AEW Revolution in 2025. Fans began to notice May’s dissatisfaction with her treatment in AEW, particularly when she took to her vlog during a trip to Chicago for AEW Dynamite and Rampage. In the vlog, she expressed frustration with her accommodations:
“So, I’m coming to you from Chicago. I checked the view, but like there’s not really anything to write home about. I got really screwed over with the rooms. Everybody came in my room. I was like, ‘Oh.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ Oh. So, I feel like everyone else has like a gorgeous view of the skyline. I’m not killing it so much. But I am tapping into this vlog. So, I’m in Chicago for Dynamite and Rampage, which we’re filming today.”
Her frustration continued when she responded to a fan’s tweet about her hotel situation with a simple, telling remark: “What’s new.”
Despite her management’s claim that her AEW contract is still active, the confirmation that WWE is preparing for her arrival suggests that her time with AEW is winding down. WWE is said to be eager to bring her on board once her deal officially expires.
