Vince McMahon may be out of WWE, but don’t count on him being done with wrestling for good—at least not according to WWE Hall of Famer JBL.
On the Something to Wrestle With podcast, the former WWE Champion shared his take on McMahon’s future and predicted a surprising path forward.
When asked if Vince would retire quietly, return to WWE, or wind up with another promotion, JBL didn’t hesitate.
“Two. I would say two, that he finds himself in another promotion somewhere. I see it’s interesting. I don’t know how he can keep himself from it,” JBL said. “He loves to work… and he loves wrestling.”
JBL believes McMahon’s deep-rooted need to be in charge will eventually pull him back into the game—just not under WWE’s roof.
“He wants to deal with wrestlers, in my opinion. And I can see somehow in the next 10 years, I hope he lives a long time, because I think it’s gonna be very interesting having him around… I can see him doing something with the wrestling company somewhere, just to show he can still do it.”
“Vince is not going to go quietly into the night and being a passive investor somewhere… I don’t see that happening. He’s an operator, and I mean that in a good way. He’s a guy that loves to run things. And I just think the pull is going to be too strong to come back. And I don’t think there’s probably a spot for him in WWE.”
With his legal battles mounting and WWE forging ahead under new leadership, many assumed McMahon’s time in the industry was finished. But JBL seems convinced that Vince isn’t going out that quietly—and might just show up somewhere completely unexpected.
