WTC Final Updates: The World Test Championship (WTC Final) is coming this month, as cricket shifts from franchise-level T20 cricket to the longest format of the game in red-ball cricket.
After an entire season of fine test cricket, the Aussies and the Proteas have advanced to the WTC finals in 2025. Australia defeated India in the home Border-Gavaskar Trophy to advance to the finals before a whitewash over Sri Lanka on their home island as well.
On the other hand, South Africa won their final series against Pakistan, which took them through to the finals with a top position finish. South African players who were part of the IPL returned back to their nation mid-way as a part of preparations for the upcoming WTC final.
The likes of Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, and Ryan Rickelton all returned for the upcoming WTC Final after the players left the IPL franchises mid-way.

WTC Final Updates: Playing 11 for Australia and South Africa

Australia has their best choices lined up, as Cameron Green, the seasoned all-rounder for the baggy green, returns post his surgery. Pat Cummins is seeking to be the first champion skipper to have led his team to successive WTC titles, after winning it first in 2023.
Green has a major impact in England, with 3 centuries in 5 games in the ongoing County stint, while there has been a major concern over the situation of whether to select Josh Hazlewood or Scott Boland into the side for the big Final test.
Scott Boland has the best performances for Australia in recent tests; however, Hazlewood has the most stunning record at Lord’s after McGrath and also comes from a stunning season in the IPL.
