A major domino in NASCAR free agency has fallen.
Daniel Suarez, who has driven the No. 99 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing since the organization’s first season in 2021, announced on Tuesday that he and Trackhouse have “mutually agree to part ways” at the end of 2025.
Suarez signed a one-year contract extension with Trackhouse in 2024, but has struggled to perform in 2025. While both of his teammates in Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen have won Cup Series races, Suarez is 29th in points and will need a win over the next eight races to make the Cup Series playoffs.
“Trackhouse and I have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025 season,” Suarez said in a statement posted to social media. “I’ve had some of the best years of my Cup Series career at Trackhouse. We had great successes as a team and I gained some incredible friends. We took a team nobody had even heard of in 2021 and in just a couple years we were winning races and running up front on a weekly basis. Just like the seasons in a year, sometimes things change and we have agreed to each go in our own direction. I wish Trackhouse nothing but the best, this 99 team will always be special to me. And like I always say, the best is ahead!”
