

Spanish winger, Antonio Cordero will join Newcastle United on a free transfer on 1 July 2025 from Malaga.
Cordero’s move to Tyneside comes after a strong season for the winger who produced six goals and assists apiece for Malaga as they finished 16th in Spain’s Segunda Division.
Following confirmation of his transfer subject to obtaining an UK visa and registration with Premier League, the 18-year-old revealed that he is delighted to get the chance to test himself in English Football, although he is expected to go out on loan this season.
“It’s truly an honour to be here, truly a pleasure. I am a person who likes to aspire high. Why not come to one of the best places in the world to do it.
“It’s a big step, and that’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m happy to do it and have a great desire to get going already.”
Newcastle’s Sporting Director, Paul Mitchell added: “Antonio is an exciting talent. We’re delighted to bring him to Newcastle United amidst interest in Spain and across Europe.
“He has lots of potential, and the next phase of his development will be for the club to select a loan move that will challenge him and build on his experiences.”
Cordero began his career with Jerez Alternativa and went on to play for; Xerez Balompie, Cadiz, Sevilla, Real Betis, before arriving at Malaga, where he progressed through their B-Team into the senior squad and managed seven goals in 60 appearances.
