In a move few fans ever saw coming, CM Punk and Roman Reigns may soon join forces in WWE—and it could all go down on a major stage.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is eyeing a major tag team showdown that would pit Punk and Reigns against Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. The potential matchup was teased after the RAW following WrestleMania 41, when Heyman’s new alliance blindsided both Reigns and Punk in the main event. Rollins and Breakker left both men laid out, kicking off a new feud with serious momentum.
The report states that WWE is not planning to rush the match, instead saving it for a marquee event like Money in the Bank or SummerSlam 2025. “It won’t happen at Backlash,”, suggesting WWE wants to build up to the match over the coming months.
While Punk and Reigns haven’t exactly been on the same page throughout their careers—both onscreen and behind the curtain—the shared enemy in Heyman’s new group may push them to align for a common cause.
This type of showdown, with two of WWE’s biggest stars teaming up against a rising star and a long-time rival, could be a major storyline heading into summer.
