Carlito may be out of WWE, but he isn’t staying off the grid for long. Just a week after disappearing from Monday Night RAW, the former Intercontinental Champion has already locked in his first post-WWE appearance—and it’s timed perfectly with SummerSlam weekend.
WrestleCon announced that Carlito will be part of their stacked convention lineup at the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott in Newark, New Jersey. Fans can catch him on Friday, August 1, from 2 PM to 6 PM, and again on Saturday, August 2, from 10 AM to 2 PM, where he’ll be available for autographs and photo ops.
This is Carlito’s first confirmed booking since publicly revealing that his WWE contract would not be renewed. He also stirred up attention after throwing shade at the company on his way out.
“My contract is up in 2 weeks. It will not be renewed. On top of that, WWE is demanding I pay back the $ they paid me for apparently ‘stealing money’ from the company,” he tweeted. “After reviewing my footage on Netflix for the past months they suggested I pay them back the money😳”
Carlito was last seen in Judgment Day segments on RAW, often hanging around their clubhouse with his PlayStation. When he quietly vanished from the June 2 episode, fans knew something had changed. Dominik Mysterio still wore a “That’s Not Cool” shirt as a subtle tribute, but Carlito himself was already moving on.
WrestleCon’s lineup is massive this year, with appearances from Sting, The Great Muta, Rob Van Dam, The Hardy Boyz, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, Saraya, Rikishi, and Abdullah the Butcher. Carlito’s name joins a loaded guest list that spans eras and promotions—including Deonna Purrazzo, Matt Cardona, Lex Luger, The Honky Tonk Man, and Dan Spivey as Waylon Mercy.
It looks like Carlito is just getting started with the next chapter of his wrestling career—and he’s bringing the apple with him.
