Ben Affleck is ready to step into the robe—and possibly the ring—if Hollywood ever taps him to play “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair.
On a recent episode of This Past Weekend with Theo Von, the Oscar winner casually threw his name in the mix for the long-rumored Ric Flair biopic. When Von joked about Affleck once wearing a blonde wig, the actor lit up and responded with a line wrestling fans won’t forget: “I wish I was Ric Flair, that would be spectacular, I’d love to play [him].”
Back in February 2024, it was announced that The Rock and Seven Bucks Productions were developing a biopic on the legendary Flair, but there haven’t been any updates since. With no casting decisions confirmed, fans have been debating who could best capture Flair’s iconic swagger—and now Affleck has entered the conversation himself.
The actor’s interest comes not long after Flair was controversially portrayed by Aaron Dean Eisenberg in The Iron Claw, a portrayal that left fans divided. Given Affleck’s recent work playing real-life figures like Nike co-founder Phil Knight in Air, some are already imagining how he might bring Ric Flair’s chaotic, charismatic persona to the big screen.
Whether the producers pick him or not, Affleck just made his pitch—and fans will no doubt have opinions.
