Defender, Rayan Ait-Nouri has departed Wolves to join Manchester City in a £36.2m transfer.
Ait-Nouri has spent the last five seasons at Wolves – albeit initially on loan in 2020-21 season, where he managed 12 goals in 157 appearances, and produced five goals plus seven assists in his strongest season yet.
Man City consequently swooped to sign the 24-year-old Algeria international to boost their left-back options in a £36.2m deal consisting of an initial £33.7m transfer fee up front plus a further £2.5m in add-ons.
Ait-Nouri accepted a five-year contract until June 2030 with an option to extend for a further year depending on performances during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
In his first interview as a City player, Ait-Nouri said that he is “incredibly happy and honoured” to join Pep Guardiola’s side and can’t wait to play under the Spaniard.
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true.
“I am also excited about working with and learning from Pep and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world class group of players.”
Wolves added that Ait-Nouri leaves Molineux with their best wishes.
“All at Wolves would like to thank Rayan for his efforts over the past five years and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
Ait-Nouri began his career at AS Val de Fontenay and went on to play for ASF Le Perreux 94, Paris and Angers at youth level, before he graduated at Angers into the first-team squad where he made 23 appearances.
