Yashasvi Jaiswal took on England captain Ben Stokes in a fiery exchange on Day 1 of the India vs England 2nd Test in Edgbaston. The Indian opener once again set the tone for the visitors after England put Shubman Gill and Co into bat in Birmingham. Jaiswal smashed yet another half-century, much to the annoyance of opposition skipper Stokes.

He dealt with a probing Chris Woakes, before taking the attack to the rest of the England attack at Edgbaston. Along with Karun Nair, Jaiswal stroked a fine partnership to put India in control of the proceedings.
